Composition: Esomeprazole
Product Type: Oral capsules and injectable solution (IV).
Strength/Dosage:
Capsules: 20 mg or 40 mg once daily, taken at least one hour before meals.
Injection: 40 mg administered intravenously, as directed by a healthcare professional.
Indications:
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Used for the treatment of GERD to reduce acid reflux and associated symptoms like heartburn.
Peptic Ulcer Disease: Helps heal ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, including those caused by Helicobacter pylori infection or NSAID use.
Erosive Esophagitis: Promotes healing of erosions in the esophagus caused by acid damage.
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Manages excessive gastric acid secretion in rare conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Prevention of Gastric Acid-Related Complications: Used in hospitalized patients to prevent stress-induced ulcers or complications like upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
