Bekum Injection:

Description

Composition:

Each vial contains:

• Meropenem (as Meropenem Trihydrate) 500mg or 1g

Quantity:

Available in single-use vials of 500mg and 1g, for Intravenous (IV) administration

Strength/Dosage:

• Bekum 500mg Injection: Meropenem 500mg per vial

• Bekum 1g Injection: Meropenem 1g per vial

Dosage:

As prescribed by the physician. Typical dosage:

• Adults:

  • 500mg to 1g every 8 hours IV

  • Severe infections: Up to 2g every 8 hours IV

• Children (≥3 months & <50kg):

  • 10–20mg/kg IV every 8 hours (max dose 40mg/kg IV every 8 hours)

• Renal impairment: Dose adjustment required based on creatinine clearance

Indications:

• Severe bacterial infections caused by meropenem-sensitive organisms

• Complicated intra-abdominal infections

• Severe pneumonia (including hospital-acquired & ventilator-associated pneumonia)

• Complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs), including pyelonephritis

• Bacterial meningitis

• Skin & soft tissue infections

• Septicemia & multi-drug-resistant (MDR) infections
